First Trimester Down...

Well, we've made it through the first trimester!

I have to say, this has been a pretty easy pregnancy so far. A little nausea for a week or so, but nothing too major. Barely gained any weight (in fact, I lost weight at first, because I was so anxious/excited), so I can't complain about my clothes not fitting yet (although soon to change, I'm sure!). No hormonal emotional swings on my end, so Mike has had that part easy. :) No scares like spotting or other worrisome symptoms. An OB who listens and takes time with us, a husband who attends appointments with me. My biggest complaint is that I'm still not sleeping well (there are nights when I literally wake up every hour, and four hours of straight sleep is about my max still), so naturally, I'm somewhat tired, but it could be worse. All in all, I could not have asked for a much better first trimester. And now we are supposed to be going into an even better trimester! So we are very excited!

Congrats on completing the first trimester! That's a big milestone! Oh...and get used to the "no sleep" thing. There's a lot of that coming...

Yeah, I hear you with the "no sleep" thing. People keep telling me it's practice for the real thing. But I just want to sleep! Oh, well.

Congratulations, guys!! This is wonderful news.
The blog is awesome and exactly why we started ours--to keep track. Of course we haven't posted since little Jonah showed up on the scene, but with time. . .

I just looked at your blog, Lue--it's great! I actually have been very quick about just getting something up there (actually, I posted the first 18 posts all in one day), and haven't given many personal details/thoughts/feelings. But yours was inspiring, so maybe I'll take a little more time and actually journal. We'll see!

I had trouble sleeping during pregnancy too. My doctor said it was the hormones. She said I could take unisom. it is safe for pregnancy because they prescribe it for morning sickness too. anyway, it worked for me...you might want to try it/ask your doctor about it. (and it is not habit forming!)

i had a ton of insomnia throughout my pregnancy, especially at the end... and yes, it was definitely a taste of things to come! it sounds like you had a fabulous first trimester-- good for you!
